Gift ideas 101- pendants

Friday, October 12th, 2007

My next idea is great for men and women at all ages and it has a touch of emotional feeling. I am talking about jewelry with its very symbolic pendants. When choosing a pendant for your special one, it has to be something that will remind them of you or you choose that pendant because it reminded you of him or her. But at times, you buy your own necklace and just choose different pendant. One pendant that will never get out of my jewelry box is the one given by my mom and that’s the 14 karat White Gold Fresh water pearl and diamond pendant that I have with me on my 18th birthday and I can use in any occasion even if wearing a simple top tee or an evening gown.

My nephew and niece received a diamond Boy and a girl pendant from their mom last Chrstimas and it was really cute for kids but they barely wear it since it has 14-k white gold and diamonds. Other options you can give to your dearest one are Dance locket Charm which is cute for kids or girls or maybe the Triton Mens Cross Pendant for Guys at any age. When buying this kind of items, don’t forget to check their buying guide just to be safe.

Gift ideas 101- sweathshirt

Since Christmas will be mostly a cold or freezing weather to most countries in the world, giving sweaters or a jacket as a present would be a good choice for all ages regardless of their gender. I personally like Combed Cotton Turtleneck for women in black. Even if the winter season is over, you can still used this clothes for any occasion just pair it with a nice jeans or a fancy skirt. It’s only $14.95 on this site which is a good buy since you can use this for a long time. Another top that I like for woman would be the Black Label Double breasted cardigan also in Black. If you want to show more skin, this will be a good choice and it could be paired with jeans, slacks or you skirt. For more chic top and to bare more skin, my choice would be the Rails Sweatshirt- Emily in Black, see the picture and be amaze.

For Men’s Clothing, sweatshirt is a good choice especially if the recipient is into sports just like the 13 sports black hooded sweatshirt for adult which is only $32.95 it is also available for woman on the same color. For winter places, I like the NCAA Sweatshirt by Nike or for more sophisticated look I like the Campmor Polarter 200 Fleece Pullover for men in color blue. Most of them are for adults. I’ll check later for sweatshirts for kids on my next entry. Please standby.

Sunglasses

my bestfriend gave me a charm bracelet on my last birthday. how i appreciate the thought of her giving me that kind of gift, with all its value and effort to search for a meaningful reason that came with its charms.

her birthday will be on the next two weeks. i cannot think of what to give her as a present because i almost gave all the best ideal gifts that i could come out with from her previous birthdays. so i asked her what she would like to have this time, reluctantly she said she would like to have a new pair of sunglasses. oh well it’s summertime and beach parties are endless.

that day after i planned to go to the mall but first i checked on the net and search for fashionable designs of sunglasses. i saw a lot of hollywood celebs wearing different kinds of shades in new designs of frames. mostly are prada and d&g sunglass. i made a few favorites, so i went to the mall to purchase one. i saw the ones that i liked and got the prada sunglass for my friend, and a d&g sunglass for me.

earrings on my birthday

Monday, October 8th, 2007

my 18th birthday’s approaching really fast, it’s actually 20 days from now to be exact. all the details for my party is almost ready. what’s not is my choice or a gift that my parents would like to give me. i told them that i would love to have a fine jewelry. my mom agreed to my idea because my grandma also gave her a jewelry on her debut. it was a pair of platinum earrings. you bet it’s still in a good shape as a new one after all these decades.

originally i just wanted a white gold earrings, aside from its good value, they aren’t that pricey. since i learned how precious that platinum is among all other stones and how my mom’s earrings looked very lovely up to this date, my mind changed to having a platinum earrings instead of a white gold one. i know how expensive it could be , but my parents are cool with that. i promised them that i will give it my best of care and i will even pass it as a gift to my future daughter.

My first dooney n burke

Saturday, October 6th, 2007

I was walking down a mall one day to shop for handbags and wallets. My original plan was to get a Burberry Handbag. I saw this store at displays different brands of classy signature bags and I glanced at one that looked like a Chanel design. So I asked the sales lady how much would it cost and I thought it would be a good buy. When I held the bag, to my surprise, it wasn’t Chanel that I thought it was! it was quilted with initials of DB, and I told the lady that I made a mistake, that all the while I thought I was gonna get a Burberry Handbag and I’m not even familiar with d&b. I felt so pathetic and stupid of not knowing this brand… the lady said that it is one of the latest brands and is owned by a lot of Hollywood celebs. She even showed me a fashion magazine and gave me the site to prove herself to me. So I was like, okay fine, it made me look dumb but I’ll still buy this anyway.

Here comes our 4 day vacation in Singapore and im very excited to bring along my bag. My friends were amazed to see my fancy Dooney & Bourke IT Mini Barrel Bag. They told me that only a few here in the city owns an original D&B and I am one of them. Haha! If only they knew the story behind this. Because of that comment, I’m planning to have a collection of d& b stuffs… I just love this bag! And I now love dooney & bourke! It’s going to be the on the top of my wish lists!

Pendants

Thursday, September 13th, 2007

My boyfriend and I went to a mall yesterday to look for a matching pendant for his necklace. Before we went to the mall, we already get some ideas online on what to look for in jewelry shop so we won’t waste our time choosing for his pendant especially on his case that he gets too picky with his stuff. I suggested the Titanium Cross Pendant since he already lost his cross pendant that he bought last year and got lost when he was staying on his old apartment.

He like what I showed him online but when we get there at the shop they don’t have that kind of pendant but instead showed us the Stainless steel cross pendant and the Triton Men’s Cross pendant. He want the later one but it was expensive at $250.00 for a pendant alone! he got disappointed with our hunt for pendant but when we check for it online it was only it was $114.50 only and it just look the same as what we saw at the mall. We just ordered online and waiting for it to be shipped since shipping will be for overnight only and we are so excited for it.

Collection- Ring

Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

I used to collect jewelries during my high school and college days. It all started when my mom kept my entire Channel Set ring that she gave on my 13th birthday. After that, my sister gave me her engagement ring that was from her ex- fiancé. Don’t ask why I got it now or else she will kill me. Moving on, most of this rings I have are the ones I got from my family that they don’t like anymore for some negative reason. The only one I bought was the 14k White Gold orange Sapphire ring that I bought myself on my 21st birthday when I got my first salary.

What I love about rings is that it never runs out in fashion trend. There was even this time when I don’t have any cash anymore that I brought one of rings in a pawnshop but I’m glad I still got it after a few weeks since most of this ring has a sentimental value for me already. I also collect other jewelries but rings are my first collection and I feel naked without wearing one.

getting a tattoo

Thursday, September 6th, 2007

What’s your view about guys with tattoo? Some find it messy, but some find it a turn on because it’s so masculine. I don’t find anything wrong with tattoos, but being addicted to it is just so weird. Some doesn’t even have any natural skin left on their body. I’ve heard it’s not that painful. But the thought of being under a needle entering your body with ink is just so! According to a friend, it hurts the first time the needle is inserted to you, but once they have pulled it out from your skin, the pain stops.

If your tattoo is done on a fleshy part, it’s the pain is not that much, but when it comes to your bony part, even boys will cry. So it must be throbbing when its done on your wrist. Arggh! Despite of the pain, a lot of people are still getting into this kind of interest. Before it was like just some convicts’ trademark, then the rockers, but now everyone can almost have it. And once you have one, it’s getting addictive. I don’t have plans of giving my body a lifetime mark with the use of needles and ink, but if ever, but I doubt it will happen; I want it on my lower back. Something fairy, angel or a cat maybe. :D
